Air Conditioning Change outs
The change out of the unit requires a permit pulled by the contractor. Only contractors with a valid License can do it. Under the new code the unit has to be 13 SEER or higher to ensure low operation cost.
To chose a right unit requires knowledge, the proper size the type of unit, and to use the latest technology in equipment and materials.
We high recommend to:
Replace the copper lines also known as refrigerants lines to ensure proper size and stability of the work performed.
Replace the plenum supply and the return that’s because in those two spats there are accumulate 90 % of the dirty, mold, and bacteria’s.
Replace the condensate lines to ensure dry fissionability.
Install over-float switch to ensure condensation water control.
Install UV Light to ensure 99% of clean air.
Inspect the duct system and patch leaks or replace the damaged ducts.
Install Digital thermostat.
Duct repair or replacements
The air conditioning system has two main components: The Units and the Air distribution system (Ducts).
High energy bills and low efficiency problems occur no matter how expensive the new unit is installed if the duct system is in bad condition, have leaks or was installed in-appropriate manner.
Duct system has to have no less than R6 insulation when is installed at the attic or non concealed areas. To use a R4 is only allow for mobile homes under craw space. Seal all joints with a mastic or UL approved tapes is the right procedure to ensure no leaks of air.
Load heat calculation is required to ensure the right amount of air needed in a space. Size of the duct depends of multiple factor and the layout of the duct system. The contractor is capable to do the calculation and fix common problems for rooms to hot in summer and to cool in winter.
Permits and Inspections
Failure to obtain a building department permit and have proper follow-up by a inspector could result in additional expense and risk for the homeowner. A deficient HVAC system may affect a property’s resale value, and could harm the state’s air quality and environment. Inspections ensure that a system is safe, will produce lower utility bills, and help the state meet energy-efficiency goals.
Unlicensed people doing Air Conditioning offer a better price in a new unit one o two hundred less than certificated and insured companies, finally the owner pay in service and repair double of the initial savings. If have no license has no the knowledge to pass state exam. That all or loosed it for bad practices.
Unlicensed operators also do not carry workers’ compensation insurance for their employees as required by California Labor Code or the contractor license bonds required by the state’s Business and Professions (B&P) Code. The homeowner may be liable if a worker is hurt on their property and without financial recourse if something goes wrong with the project.
Air Conditioning maintenance
Regular air conditioning maintenance keeps the quality up and ensures low operation cost. Every unit needs routine maintenance to keep the high efficiency possible. Here at Accurate Comfort, we provide three different maintenance packages for residential units and performs a tailor-made program for commercial units.
Air conditioning seasonal tune-up
Maintain your equipment to prevent future problems and unwanted costs. Keep your cooling and heating system at peak performance by having a contractor do annual pre-season check-ups. Contractors get busy once summer and winter come, so it's best to check the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall. To remember, you might plan the check-ups around the time changes in the spring and fall.
A typical maintenance check-up should include the following.
Check thermostat settings to ensure the cooling and heating system keeps you comfortable when you are home and saves energy while you are away.
Tighten all electrical connections and measure voltage and current on motors. Faulty electrical connections can cause unsafe operation of your system and reduce the life of major components.
Lubricate all moving parts. Parts that lack lubrication cause friction in motors and increase the amount of electricity you use.
Check and inspect the condensate drain in your central air conditioner, furnace and/or heat pump (when in cooling mode). A plugged drain can cause water damage in the house and affect indoor humidity levels.
Check controls of the system to ensure proper and safe operation.
Check the starting cycle of the equipment to assure the system starts, operates, and shuts off properly.
Cooling Specific Clean evaporator and condenser air conditioning coils. Dirty coils reduce the system's ability to cool your home and cause the system to run longer, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.
Check your central air conditioner's refrigerant level and adjust if necessary. Too much or too little refrigerant will make your system less efficient increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.
Clean and adjust blower components to provide proper system airflow for greater comfort levels. Airflow problems can reduce your system's efficiency by up to 15 percent.
Heating Specific Check all gas (or oil) connections, gas pressure, burner combustion and heat exchanger. Improperly operating gas (or oil) connections are a fire hazard and can contribute to health problems. A dirty burner or cracked heat exchanger causes improper burner operation. Either can cause the equipment to operate less safely and efficiently.
Actions To Do Yourself Inspect, clean, or change air filters once a month in your central air conditioner, furnace, and/or heat pump. Your contractor can show you how to do this. A dirty filter can increase energy costs and damage your equipment, leading to early failure.Go green at :EnergyStar
