Installation of new air conditioning
The process of installing a new unit requires experience to avoid headaches to all parties involved. At Accurate Comfort we have the knowledge to ensure proper installation under Orlando City and county codes. Licensed and insured under the Florida Department of Professional Regulation.
Our goal in assisting the owner choose the right unit is to guarantee maximum savings in operation costs by picking and installing the latest technology and equipment.
Replacement units-Change outs
The change out of a unit requires the contractor to get a permit. Only contractors with a valid License can do it. Under the new code the unit has to be 13 SEER or higher to ensure low operation cost.
To chose the right unit requires knowledge, the proper size and type of unit, and to use the latest technology in equipment and materials.
Accurate Comfort change out recommendations :
-Replace the copper lines also known as refrigerant lines to ensure proper size and stability of the work performed.
-Replace the plenum supply and the return because it’s where 90% of all the dirt, mold, and bacteria accumulate.
-Replace the condensate lines to ensure dry fissionability.
-Install over-float switch to ensure condensation water control.
-Install UV Light to ensure 99% of clean air.
-Inspect the duct system and patch leaks or replace the damaged ducts.
-Install Digital thermostat.
Duct service, and replacements for residential and Commercial
The Air Conditioning system has two main components: The Units and the Air distribution system (Ducts).
High energy bills and low efficiency problems occur no matter how expensive the new unit is if the duct system is in bad condition, has leaks or was poorly installed.
The duct system has to have no less than R6 insulation when it is installed in the attic or non-concealed areas. R4 insulation is only for mobile homes under crawl space. Seal all joints with a mastic or UL approved tapes are part of proper procedure to ensure no leaks of air.
Load heat calculation is required to ensure the right amount of air needed in a space. Size of the duct depends on multiple factors and the layout of the duct system. The contractor is capable of doing the calculations and fixing common problems for rooms that may be too hot in the summer and too cool in the winter.
Orlando, Permits and Inspections- Residential and Commercial
Failure to obtain a building department permit and have a proper follow-up by an inspector of Orlando could result in additional expenses and risks for the homeowner. A deficient HVAC system may affect a property’s resale value, and could harm the home’s air quality and environment. Inspections ensure that a system is safe, will produce lower utility bills, and help the state meet energy-efficiency goals.
Unlicensed operators also do not carry workers’ compensation insurance for their employees as required by Orlando Labor Code or the contractor license bonds required by the state’s Business and Professions (B&P) Code. The homeowner may then be liable if a worker is hurt on their property.
AC Maintenance
Regular Air Conditioning Repair and maintenance keeps the quality up and ensures low operation costs. Every unit needs routine maintenance to maintain high efficiency. Here at Accurate Comfort, we provide three different maintenance packages for residential units and perform a tailor-made program for commercial units.
Maintenance tips:
The air conditioner is an appliance. Keep it in good shape with these easy tips:
- Change filter regularly as recommended by the Air Conditioning technician schedule.
- Clear area around the Air Conditioning condenser of weeds, bushes and debris.
- Clean the Air Conditioning coil with a water hose.
- Put ¼ cup of vinegar or bleach into condensate line every time you change the filter.
Seasonal tune-up
Maintain your equipment to prevent future problems and unwanted costs. Keep your cooling and heating system at peak performance by having a contractor do annual pre-season check-ups. Contractors get busy once summer and winter come, so it's best to check the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall. To remember, you might plan the check-ups around the time changes in the spring and fall.
A typical maintenance check-up should include the following.
- Check thermostat
- Tighten all electrical connections
- Lubricate all moving parts.
- Check and inspect the condensate
- Check controls.
- Check the starting cycle
- Cooling Specific Clean evaporator
- Check your central air conditioner's refrigerant
Clean and adjust blower- Heating Specific Check all gas (or oil) connections
- Actions To Do Yourself Inspect, clean, or change filters once a month
- A dirty filter can increase energy costs and damage your equipment, leading to early failure.
